491. Jesus Ministering Condemnation

The Mosaic law was a good thing. Why? It was given to show the people of Israel the impossible standard of perfection that would be required. It was meant to bring guilt and despair in order to point the people to the solution – faith in Jesus Christ. When Jesus came to earth, born under the law, He came to redeem those who were under the law. Jesus would sometimes minister the burden of the law to bring people to a place where they would begin to seek God's righteousness, instead of trying to establish their own through the works of that law.
